Need suggestions for a high school play?
I'm directing a show at a high school this may-june and I'm in search for the perfect show. I'd like to do a farce or contemporary show. Looking more for comedy but open to a well written play of any genre. Cast size can be anywhere from 4-20 kids, I'm not picky on that. Must have both male and female roles, however these do not have to be equally balanced or tipped in either direction.
As for tech we don't want super complicated, but we don't want nothing. half the point of the program I'm running is to teach kids how to do the technical side of theatre. So all elements (set, sound, costume, lighting) need at least SOMETHING to do. But remember we aren't rolling in money.
I'm actively looking but I figured throwing something up here and seeing some opinions couldn't hurt. I'm thankful for any suggestions!!
**We would rather do a straight play but if you know of a simple or good musical that fits these criteria we are open to looking at it!
