REMOVALISTS - SYDNEY TO HERVEY BAY QLD?
I will be moving from Sydney to Hervey Bay around August of this year and was wondering if anybody has had some personal experience with an interstate removalist company? I don't want to pay over the top rates, such as Grace Bros/David Jones removalists, but again, the cheapie's are obviously cheap for a reason. I actually had a quote from a company (which I shall not name) to transport an entire 3bedroom house full of furniture the 1300kms or so, to Hervey Bay for $800.00 (LOL). I checked their website reviews out and the comments spoke for themselves. Disgusting, rude, broken furniture and 2-3 days later than expected.... I would expect that for such a ridiculously low price.
So if anyone has had personal experience and can recommend me some companies, I would be most grateful. Also approximately how much should it cost do you think (to the nearest thousand) ??
I will look into all answerer's responses and thanx for your input.

Removalists with a good reputation are seldom cheap but that is why they have a good reputation. They take care of your stuff and good care costs money. Check removalists in Hervey Bay and see what you can find out about them. If you have any problems after the move, the company is local and you can deal with them directly rather than having to rely on phone calls and letters to a company more than a thousand kilometres away.
You will also find that if you are flexible and the company can arrange your removal from Sydney to coincide with one from southeast Queensland to Sydney, it will be cheaper as they will have a full van in each direction.

Janelle, I moved Internationally a couple of times to and from Australia, and the companies used were either, Grace Removals or K.L.Kent Removals. I did not have one crystal flute broken or damaged china, Packed perfectly, and the service was fantastic and on time.

In my experience it's cheaper to use a company based in the destination rather than the home city, as they often have to travel back empty.
