some took years to get those points
and at one time level 5 and above had no answering limit
if you do your limits each day they wil add up very fast if you don't ask to many

Look at some of these peoples' points and do the math. Some of these folks must do nothing else but sit in front of the computer and answer questions. I need about 2000 points to get to the next level. I have been getting about 26% "best answers"(10 points). I will have to answer over 700 more questions to get to the next level, which will take me over a year. Yes, if you intend on living a normal life, it will take awhile to acquire a lot of points.

Look at how long they have been here and their BA %. It doesn't really take a lot of time per day; it takes consistency over the long run. You have not answered that many questions, for example. Many people here can answer that many in a few days, in just an hour or so each day. If a person is retired, bed ridden, house bound, or at a job in front of a computer with a lot of downtime, that helps as well. But please don't just assume that we have no life; many users here obviously have very full lives, as can be seen by the depth and breadth of their knowledge and expertise.
