Since Obama has decided to reduce the military by getting rid of the A10 Warthog, should we give them away?

Give them to the Ukrainians or be real smart and sell them to the Russians?

See, that makes sense. But we are the USAF. Nothing we do makes sense. So I'm guessing the A-10s are just going to sit in the grave yard at DM and collect rust.

Source(s): I've collected the packages to retire a lot of A-10s to the Grave Yard.

Your thesis is incorrect. The President has absolutely nothing to do with eliminating the A-10. Congress has set the budget, and the Services have to come up with ways to meet that budget. The Air Force has decided to eliminate the A-10 (which it has been trying to do for almost 25 years now) in order to meet it's Congressionally-mandated budget.

Now ... as far as the aircraft itself, both the Ukrainian and Russian Air Forces already posses and use the SU-25 (NATO reporting name: Frogfoot), which, while not quite as good as the A-10, is a very capable ground attack aircraft. Why would either need the A-10?

Do you see how silly your question is now that you know facts?
