Do dogs sense when something is wrong with other dogs?
Ok so my lab normally annoys the hell out of any dogs who come over, but my brothers dog, who just went through surgery for having cancer removed and possibly going through chemo came over for us to watch her while he worked, i walked in the living room and he was laying right next to her with his head laying on her like he was protecting her, any other time she came over he would stay annoying her.

How sweet. Yes, they do sense when something is wrong with other dogs. Sometimes in a bad way. They have been known to try to kill the sick and weak as wolves will.

Dog can sense something is wrong, yes. They can tell because emotions tend to have a different scent than others in humans and animals. That's why snugly dogs always snuggle up with people who are feeling upset. :)

Yes, they do! Every once in a while, if they come across something that's dying, they's snuggle it (unfortunately, it's not usually a "I'm sorry you're going through this" hug. They snuggle it because that's when the being is emanating the most heat.)
