Mini poodle turns back on me?
I have a mini poodle and it sits by me, but it it don't sit facing me. It turns his back looking the other way. Why does he do this?

That is normal for poodles.
They are protective dogs and want to see what is coming at them and their humans.
My standards all do the same thing.

My poodle does that too, but I use it to my advantage and I rub his back, he loves it. So turn what you think of as a negative into a positive and show him some love. He may just want you to rub his back.

They all do that, they are guard dogs in Paris, did you know? They are always looking out for you. Totally normal. Just don't let they sit on your feet - that's disrespectful!

I think Pamela has it right. They turn around because they're not worried about you attacking their back. When mine get special treats, they chew them facing us or the other dog..because we could take them away! :) He's watching out for you!
