Whats inside a hard drive?
I was helping my buddy build a computer a couple days back, just for fun, very crappy. 2 gb of ram. 300 gb hard drive. And amd video card. I asked, "Whats inside a hard drive, can i make one?'
Excuse me if you understand all this and i see, stupid, but how are hard drives made, is it possible to make one with stuff you can find at, like, places like a computer store?

There are discs inside that spin very fast (depends on hard drive) and a thing that reads the information on the disc. I don't think it is possible to make a hard drive that's something near the capabilites of today's hard drives, it's very precise.

It's like a record player! It had a small record like disc. And a little needle that goes around it writing down info.
