Can I drop a friend from my vehicle insurance policy?
Did a favor a while ago. Now I want to dorp him from my vehicle insrance coverage. I'm told that I may have to get insurance from another insurance company because it isn't that easy to drop someone even if they are just a friend. So do I just get other insurance and let the bills go to him?

Generally, if you can prove that he doesn't live with you, and has insurance elsewhere, it's not an issue (especially if you can provide written proof).
And specifically to answer your question - no! Don't do that. If you're the named insured and he's just a driver those bills are still going to go to you.
You have 2 options:
1. Call your insurance company and remove him
2. Get insurance somewhere else, and cancel your original insurance (be aware they may ask you about your friend since he's on your current insurance).
If you get insured somewhere else, the problem doesn't just vanish unless you have yourself removed from the original policy, or have the entire policy cancelled.

This is a pretty bad idea, definitely get him off the insurance. Just tell him you're not covering him anymore. If he's too irresponsible to get his own coverage, you don't want that taint influencing you.

it is not difficult at all to remove him from your policy. simply call your agent and advise him that you are dropping all coverage for that individual. you may get a credit for the time remaining on your policy till the next renewal /or they will credit down the policy at renewal depending on how close to renewal time it is. just make sure the car is no way available to the individual ever.
