I Need help with measurements?

I'm making chocolate chip cookies and the recipe calls for 12/3 cups of chocolate chips how much is that, is it 4 cups? Thanks

    Twelve thirds would be 4 cups, but unless your recipe is for making 150 cookies, that's an awful lot of chocolate chips for a batch of cookies. I think that what it really means is "1 and 2/3" but someone mis-wrote it.

    I'll bet that is only 5/3 cup chocolate or 1 cup+ 2/3 cup.... You might compare with other recipes....

    If you're making a **** load of cookies you read it very wrong and it should be one cup and two thirds of a cup of chips
