How do you think homosexuality became a bad thing?

I think that homosexuality was the norm in ancient rome and ancient greece until christianity arrived. I'm guessing that even in ancient egypt and other places in europe, homosexuality was perfectly fine, or at least equal to heterosexuality.

Do you think it's just perversion that men used to have sex with boys as young as 12 (pederasty)?

Do you think that if christianity never existed, incest, pedophillia and homosexuality would be completely normal? Why is it bad to have sex with someone of the same gender?

Many people are against it.

Many people claim to think it's okay, but still make jokes about it and criticize gays.

Most of us are homophobic but don't even know it ourselves.

Speaking of homophobic, would that word exist without christianity?

I could go on and on about this...

Also, do you think that we never hear about gays in really primitive tribes such as himbas because it doesn't make sense to them to have sexual intercourse without procreating?

What do you guys think?

Greek and Roman culture was not without homophobia. They viewed it slightly differently though, if a man was penetrated it was seen as becoming a woman (they were pretty sexist to) so there was nothing wrong with a man having sex with another man as long he was the penetrator, otherwise his masculinity was questionable. It was acceptable for a teenage boy to be the receiver, because he was not already a man yet, and it was expected that he would go on to be a tough man because of it (quite a contradiction). So while there was more acceptance, there was still many prejudices and stigmas surrounding it. So I think homophobia would still exist without Christianity and some of the ideals we have about everyone being equal began with Christianity so the situation could quite possibly be worse if Christianity had never exisited. The word 'homophobia' itself, who knows, it's obvious that Christianity has had a huge impact on the world, in some ways good and in some ways bad. Maybe if Christians hadn't been so hard on homosexuals then the need to analyze attitudes toward homosexuals would not have arisen and the prejudices of ancient Rome would have gone unquestioned, it's all pointless speculation really, it could have just as easily happened anyway.

To answer your title, it became "bad" because of ignorance and the abrihamic faiths, but because religions grip on society is loosening it is ok.

To answer other parts of your question, a homophobic free world would still have religion but the religions would have the heterosexist parts axed out. Furthermore a world without Christianity, Judaism and Islam would not increase incest, pedophilia (don't ever compare people who are gay to child rapists) because 1) science has proven a child born of incest will be mutated and 2) human empathy controls morality, not the bible or Quran

Because, just like every other sin thew Lord has in the bible mankind always go against. God forbids such a relationship and mankind wants to have their way any way. The bible teaches that we should not steal and kill. How did that become a bad thing? Well, the same with this kind of relationship, it is against the bible and it is sinful!! It's nothing new. The bible has a story about this kind of sin in the old testament. The bible teaches that there's nothing new under the sun. That's one of them. We don't make the law. Whether we exist or not, we did not make the law of the world. God did and the bible teaches that God always was. he has no beginning and no end, so that means there was always laws, because God always was. Now if you say, suppose God didn't exist, wouldn't make much sens because he has no beginning. Besides, if there was no God, there would be no YOU!
