Accident with both drivers involved having auto insurance?
ok so last week i was involved in a accident where the guy backs into while I'm in the drive through waiting to order food. we both swapped insurance info and had proof of DL's. but my question is should i be expecting anything from his insurance company? The deductible for my vehicle has been waived since he hit me thus making me not at fault. I talked with the lady from his insurance like a day after it happened and she asked how much my deductible was so i told her and she said something about sending me or the dealership the deductible amount. But since my deductble was waived should i still expecting something or no? this is my first one so thats y I'm asking
we have different insurance companies if that makes a difference

It sounds like you filed the claim with your insurance and they waived the deductible. This is common and no need to worry. You insurance company is expecting to be reimbursed the full amount including deductible from the other guys insurance. No body is trying to pull a fast one or snooker you as others have said. You should not expect to receive anything from the other guys insurance. You are being paid in full buy your insurance.
If they do happen to make a mistake and send you the deductible amount then hold on the check and don't cash it. Contact your insurance and tell them what happened.

well if your not at fault then you should not have to pay any deductible or it should not have to be waived, cause there is no deductible to pay if you are not at fault. all you need to do is file a claim with the other drivers insurance company and get an estimate done on the damage. then they will either cut you a check or they will pay the body shop directly.

You are being snookered. They want to pay just the deductible for your insurance and leave you to make a claim with your insurance. That is wrong. Their insurance should be paying the full amount instead.
Tony is correct, you need to tell your own insurance what they are trying to do to you, and let them help you collect from the other persons insurance.

She's trying to pull a fast one on you. If it was his fault then his insurance will have to pay the full amount. They are trying to get by with paying your deductible and then have your insurance pay the rest of the repair. There is no way your insurance is going to go along with this. Just advise your insurance of the situation and let them handle it.
