why do all website try to look like one another?

They aren't all trying to look like eachother. The only reason it seems like that is because of a tool called "Wordpress" - it has become a standard use, and allows people who are paid to do webdesign to set clients up with "professional" looking webpages without having to actually do a damn thing. Good money, no work involved. The spread of this site format is caused by lazy bastards :)

Not everyone can design their own website from scratch, so they go for ready-made, user-friendly formats.

Such formats are convenient for starters because they're proven to be functional across multiple platforms.
