Which country do you live in, and by what age do babies births have to be registered by?

I sometimes see questions from people who are panicking because a baby is un-named. In England we don't have to register their birth until they are 6 weeks old, while in Scotland they only have 3 weeks. Is it different in other countries?

Update:

Selina and Suzy, I am glad I don't live in the USA or Netherlands. They don't give you much time.

In England you have to register the birth within 6 weeks but you don't have to register their name them for a year.

"If you haven’t thought of a name for your baby within the time limit of 42 days then you must still register the birth but the name will be left blank. You have up to one year from the date of registration to decide on a name and enter it on the register."

I live in the Netherlands, and we have to register a birth within three days after the birth, or on the next week day if the third day happens to be on a weekend or official holiday. If we're late, we can get fined.
