There is also a notice saying that Twitch will start playing Pokemon Emerald in a little over 6.5 days (as of now). Therefore the most natural guess (not authoritative) is:
In democracy mode, a single button press takes a whole voting period, which is 30s long. Anarchy mode accomplishes in-game tasks faster (even if trolls try to make Ash bump into walls and whatnot), and they want to wrap up Pokemon Crystal in time for Pokemon Emerald.
