How do I tell a girl she is very good looking?
So, this girl and I used to go to school together and we were good friends, but a few years ago, I left the school to be homeschooled. Since I left, we really didn't keep in contact or talk much. And so, we haven't really talked in a few years. Then today, I see that she gave me a follow on Instagram so I was glad to hear from her again. When I went on her page (initially, to see who it was), I saw that she got extremely good looking over the years. I asked her how it's going and stuff but I really want to tell her how gorgeous/beautiful/good looking I think she got. Will it sound creepy or weird? Will she take this as the compliment it is? How would you suggest I go about saying this? Thanks in advance. :)
P.S. Sorry for the novel I just wrote.
P.P.S. Yes, I'm reporting this because, for some reason, it got posted in UK and Ireland Answers. That's fine, but I want some other answers, too. :)
I'm reposting, not reporting. Stupid auto-correct.

Why report your question? It's fine.
As far as complimenting her, I don't see anything wrong with it. Girls normally loved to be complimented like that. As far as how she'll take it, that's for her to show. I can't really speak for her becuase sometimes people are weird and defensive about compliments. Or she might take it the wrong way that you like her and that this is your way of slowly trying to ask her out. So, I'd try to phrase your comment in a 'buddy' way. Maybe something like
"Wow, you look amazing. Very photogenic!"

Don't say "You look nice now" because then she'll think that you did not think she was pretty back then
Or you could tell her "You're so photogenic!" (meaning that she takes a good picture)
Or "I'm not trying to be creepy or anything, but you look really nice" or "pretty"
You could say how she has pretty eyes, or whatever feature about her that you like, her hair, , whatever.
Just don't ever say she looks "hot"
"hot" is a temperature. girls hate being called "hot"

don't tell her it because if you do say it she'll think you didn't think she was pretty before you started being home schooled. and then she may become offended.
