Because being concerned with how clean your car is is much safer than confronting you about destructive behaviors , depression and divorce. It sounds as if people might be afraid of how you will take it. If your circle of family and friends cannot really support you, get to an anger management group. That may change your relationship, the destructive behavior and the depression- really.
