Why do people think of Americans as ignorant?

So you are annoyed people are ignorant and make assumptions about Americans but okay if "your" country receive rude/abusive comments from users.

Not only are you ignorant, but you are also a hypocrite. You can't tell people not to get angry, yet you aren't old enough to realise the "truth", therefore you are in no position attacking Chinese people or urge others to attack China or Chinese people.

You really are an idiot, one minute you are attacking the government for brainwashing Chinese people, then attacking Chinese people for being brainwashed, if you bother doing more research and travel to China, China is just like any other country, some good, some bad, everyone has their own political views, not everyone in China supports the government or the CCP.

Every country has different forms of brainwashing and HAS shown biasness towards and against a specific country (either its theirs or another country).

Some of your statements are wrong "Okay just because there are some Americans that are ignorant doesn't mean that they all do, Americans never judge a book by it's cover, they won't say French people are stupid because one of them are, they judge by the whole thing itself." but it's you who have the most people saying the french are rude while never being to France.

The american are not that ignorant but they are quite self centered and their president Bush didn't help to make them look better.

When foreign people think of America, they think of the deep South: rednecks, hillbillies, tractors, obesity, religious bigots, guns, rambunctiousness, inbred children. They're not setting a very good example for the entirety of America. However, Americans tend to make fun of other nations as well. Here's some that I've heard (not that I think they're appropriate, just relaying what I've heard):

-Asians have small "male parts" and they ALL look the same

-Africans are direct descendants of monkeys

-Europeans are cheap and smell disgusting

-Latin Americans are dirty and uneducated

Oh the irony. Can you see how your question may be coming across as ignorant? You're assuming the whole world sees Americans as ignorant, that's an unfounded opinion to say the least.

Every country has people and governments with good and bad points. The only opinion that matters is the one that comes from your own mouth.

we're not "stupid" exactly. But we American ARE very self centered. VERY self centered. We don't pay attention or care about much. That's bad, but "stupid" isn't the right word for it.
