Few questions about my pittbull puppy?
Okay so i have a 3 month old tan pittie with a white chest. Here are my questions
1) Name? I was thinking Roscoe. Is that a good name?
2) I technically "stole" him because i jumped this mans fence and took him because the man kept this little puppy outside all winter with no dog house or blankets and his water was frozen plus beat him pretty often. I called shelters but they couldnt proove anything. They did not have him city registered. If they found out i took him could they do something?
3) How much should i feed him daily? i mix wet & dry
4)Anything else I should know?

1) That is a cute name. I like Roscoe.
2)Honestly, I doubt they would ever find out. Not than I condone stealing, but the previous owners probably don't even miss the dog. I'd avoid saying you jumped the fence and took him. Perhaps the pup was wondering in the street and you "found" him. From a legal standpoint, unless the have photo/video of you doing, have the dog microchipped, or are willing to do DNA testing to get the dog back, there isn't much they can do.
In Canada, you wouldn't get much more than fine. Theft under $5000, carries a fine of a couple hundred dollars. As does going on private property. Getting a good lawyer would avoid the fines as well as increasing the possibility of you keeping the dog.
3) This information is on the back of the bag. Young puppies like to be fed 3 times a day. You can feed 100% dry food is you want. Just make sure the pup in on a high quality (4 or 5 star) food: http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/best-dog-foods/best-... If the dog is getting too fat, feed less and exercise more, if the dog is too skinny, feed more.
4) Start training now - leash training and house training are the most important. Also, make sure the pup sees the vet to be vaccinated and dewormed asap.

Unless those people have any way of proving the dog is theirs, like vet records, I doubt they can do anything. Avoid going near their home. If the dog is young, they won't recognize him as well as he grows. And if you are confronted, tell them you got him at the shelter. there are so many pit bulls that there's bound to be some that look the same.
Feed him a grain free diet. Bully breed dogs (like pit bulls) are prone to food allergies, especially to corn or wheat.

I like that name it's unique
Second say that you found the dog and couldn't find the owner say he was starving and needed water
Third I would use a mix of food
You can either feed him in the morning or at night
Or half in the morning rest at night
I would take him to a vet and say you found him
Then if you haven't had a pitt before take home to a few dog classes to make sure his background doesn't bring up any bad aggression
Make sure he doesn't have any sensitive spots (a spot he doesn't want touched like if he got beat there alot)
Try to socialize him with strangers cats and all kinds of dogs
Take him to Petsmart and let him pick out a few toys but first make sure he won't attack any dogs!
That's all I can think of. Good job taking the job I would have done the same thing! :-)

First of all, you are a thief in possesion of property that is not yours, a crime in any state. Second, when they find the dog, and you, you will lose it again, most likely to the pound where it will be put down.
Third, you cannot spell the PIT BULL name properly, never mind the fact that you know NOTHING about the breed or dogs in general.

I wouldn't name him. He's not yours, you stole him! You should take him to a shelter or call a Pit Bull rescue and surrender him. If you keep him and his rightful owner finds out you took him the dog could end up right back in that terrible situation and you'll have to deal with the legal repercussions of your actions. Next time you find a dog in similar conditions, just call animal control and let them handle it the right way!

First of all, Roscoe is a pretty cool name. So are Bruno, Dale, Pablo and Rudi.
As you are saying that you took the dog without the owner's knowledge, I think its a pretty good job you are doing saving the dog. I don't think that the owner will even be bothered to find the dog and get a new one. But yes if the owner had done some paperwork you could get into some trouble. Pitbull is a dog with a heavy appetite. You should give him milk at least twice along with other dog food whenever he feels hungry.
