That frame is a simple basic Smith & Wesson, nothing special at all. Only a different barrel installed. Anyone who has had a Custom match pistol built has something very similar. This is just a custom improved Smith & Wesson. Has top and bottom rails added, some of those can be very nicely fit to the contours, which is what this looks like. A real machinist could make that entire barrel one piece.

Most here who are match shooters have these. See, if you do not compete and use this stuff most people have NO idea this kind of stuff even exists. It truly is not that unusual of a gun. Just looks like a " space gun " to those who do not know. But, then most comp guns would to the novice.

Added : OH, the frame looks to be a J frame maybe if the picture is making it look smaller a K frame maybe. My last pistol was built on a Model 64 Smith which is the stainless version of the model 10. Kind of similar looking revolver but mine has a longer barrel, with a heavy solid chunk of steel along the bottom of the barrel, and an Aristocrat rail set of sights across the top. Also a larger grip for two handed shooting. Bobbed hammer. A side note, I bought 12 revolvers before we found one straight enough to build. Depends on what level you care to compete at. With a revolver, you have six chambers that need to line up just right behind the barrel or the gun will not shoot as good as it can if perfect. See?

Shhhhh, we don't tell secrets, I am getting older now, and do need an edge to whooop these young whippersnappers.

The TR is short for " tactical response"

SW spec'ed this originally for the NYPD. The first man on a SWAT entry stack carries a sheild... semi autos smacked into it when fired... simple fix.... point man gets a revolver.

First one Ive seen with a top rail....if you have the work for it a light and a dot work good...

Definitely looks like a TRR8 with an added rail on top.

It's definitely a S&W design, but with custom "racegun" features added. Not only is it a S&W design, but the shape of the release latch indicates it's a relatively new S&W design.

It looks like one of these with a rail added to the top. Ugly gun.
