Why do U.S. conservatives hell bent on right wing ideology bow down and worship a liberal anti-military hippie like Jesus.?

Talking religion with a liberal is like talking women with Barney Frank, they just will never get it.

Since the very beginnings of Christianity, people have re-invented Jesus to be just like themselves, to share their values, to believe what they believed and want what they wanted. The Bible has been warped out of shape over and over for 2000 years to justify war, slavery, genocide, draconian punishment, etc. In fact Paul himself was one of the first to re-cast Jesus almost as a pagan god, a god with a human face, with human emotions and motivations, who was easier to 'know' and to understand than the God of the Old Testament.

People just naturally believe that God feels the way they do themselves. It's just part of human nature. In fact it's one reason people believe in God to begin with.

To Republicans today, Jesus is a supply-sider, a lover of the concentration of wealth. He believes its good for people to work hard for low pay. He doesn't believe people are capable of governing themselves so the rich and powerful seize control for the good of all. He believes in intolerance and exclusion, that the rights of citizenship and even the love of God belong to only the right kind of people.

They believe Jesus is a god of 'personal responsibility', meaning that people who have sex must suffer the consequences, either pregnancies or STDs. Meaning that the 5-10% of Americans systematically and deliberately excluded from the job market are lazy moochers and bums and should be punished. But the rich should be forgiven any crime because, after all, they're heroes! They believe that Jesus thinks it's okay to tell malicious lies about anyone you disagree with.

In other words, the Republicans believe Jesus is a Republican!

Christ never marched for: boycotts, human rights, civil rights, woman's rights, children's rights, male rights, & animal rights; never opposed the death penalty, never called for or led a revolution not even an army or nation, never fought to end slavery like Lincoln & the abolitionists, never encourage or condone verbal or physical thuggery & intimidation, never boasted with great arrogance or pride, never encourage or condone dependency, free riding, or thievery (FMR), never used his status and following to enrich himself through sermons, politics, activism & a network anchorship (Sharpton/Jackson), never offered bounties, never protested or demanded conviction of anyone the way so called christian men of the cloth with the rev title are behaving.

The only thing Christ did is commit suicide indirectly.

I'm an athiest. Jesus was just a dude who barely got mentioned by the historian Josephus and only became famous because an acolyte named Saul was very charismatic, and then later because a Roman Emperor though the religion would make him popular and bind political forces to him.

I am a conservative because neoclassical/Austrian economic theory is the best and most internally consistent explanation of economic phenomenon and forces.

Leftists seem to think Jesus was interested in the materialisms of life (flesh) and possessions (wealth redistribution), this are some of the things the camel has to discard to get through the eye of the needle.

The Jesus I know never killed a thing.

Not all conservatives believe in Jesus, as not all liberals are queer and anti white male.

Jesus is coming back with a sword, an account and, a law degree and a penthouse on Park Avenue.
