In Final Fantasy X HD, what difference does the expert sphere grid make?
I know the new Final Fantasy X HD is the "International" version that wasn't released in the US.
The International version includes a setting for the Sphere Grid called 'Expert mode'. I know that Expert Mode rearranges the grid and starts everyone in the center, but that's all I know.
Does Expert Mode make the game harder or does it just let you customize the characters more easily?

It lets you customise them more easily at a cost of not having any particular guidance about what works for them or not. Also some abilities that a character might obtain relatively early on, with their normal sphere grid, might take much longer for anyone to reach, on the expert grid.
The expert grid has less 'nodes' than the original one, but there are still enough to max your stats out.
