Is there a way to take Microsoft 2003 off my old HP computer and put it on my new HP.?

I just purchased a new HP Pavilion with Windows 8.1 on it and it doesn't have Microsoft Office and I was wondering if there is a way I can remove Microsoft 2003 from my old HP Pavilion with Vista and move it to my new one without a disk.

if you need Office, get OpenOffice or LibreOffice. They're 100% free, open-source alternatives that even handle MS office stuff, like doc/docx, rtf, presentations, and more. I've never bought or downloaded MS OFfice, because I only ever use LibreOffice now!

Microsoft Office 2003 may not work at all with Windows 8.1. The reason being the huge difference in the time when Office 2003 was released and Windows 8.1. That being said, you may remember(or not) that there is an Office Key involved when you install Microsoft Office. Do you have the keys for Microsoft Office 2003 ?

So , here you are looking at making a CD with Microsoft Office from the present Office Installation on Windows Vista, then you have to install it on windows 8.1 with (or without) the Key. Will this work or not is a totally moot point. So you have more than one issue to handle.

For the amount of effort and money you put into this, you could probably get the Students Version of Office 2010 or something. There is also the totally free 'Open Office" available if you just search for it.

Without an installation disk and Product Key, you cannot install an Office program.

Your online Hotmail [Outlook] Account offers FREE online version of Office 2013.
