overcome your fears?

All my life acting has been a passion of mine, but of course im that walking cliché of a person who has stopped them from chasing their dream.

Well yeah. Ive been told by numerous people who were lucky enough to see me perform(not lucky because im so good, which i believe i am, but lucky because there is only a handful of people)have said I have a huge potential, and am very good at acting. But they only know this because I trusted them enough, friends & family and also, Performance Arts Drama Private Tutor(my friends) and also some dude claiming to be a scout for an agency who gave me his number an told me to ring him, I never just for those who were wondering, I simply couldnt bring myself to it. My fears "held me back"

But I am deciding to go for it now, I have an interview next month with a local-ish Drama School, i have an audition and interview with them. And im really uneasy about it, i hate when i have to perform for new people i dont know....so I just dont do it.

So basically, at the moment I believe that I only have to do it once(the first time) and after that anything else will feel much more natural.

I have those times where im in the mindset where ill just perform for anyone, and then Ill be timid and extremely shy.

Its just, I love acting...Im gonna go ahead regardless because im not letting it get away from me. But Im just asking for any advice to help men feel more easy and maybe even overcome this fear?

Thanks in advance.

Hi. I like to act too. It is so funny, just when I am about to step foot on stage, my heart begins to beat as if it will jump out of my chest. Then I take a breath and I remember I got this. Don't focus on the so called "mess up" but on the end result. My question to you is, how do you feel after you preform? I bet it feels good to know that your talent has made someone's day. Just think of this, that one day, your talent will inspire someone else. You were put on this Earth to be an inspiration. God gave you so many talents so just allow Him to use you and take your talent to new directions. Just think of your favorite performer, for every person that said no, God had a Yes in another persons mouth. Your yes is there, just keep doing you. I hope you do well. God bless.

    Okay - reality check.

Friends and family are the worst people to get opinions from regarding your talent or potential. The only opinions that count are from people who don't know you.

And the 'dude' who said he was a scout was just a scam artist - real agents don't 'scout'.

But, having said that, the only way you'll ever find out if you have real talent is by grasping the nettle, being brave, and giving it your best shot. Have confidence in yourself, do your best and see what happens.

Most of the actors I know are quite shy - but they come alive when they're on stage or on set.

To give a good performance, you have to get into a mindset where you don't care if you make a fool of yourself - you just need to go for it and risk it. When you hold back and try too hard, you will come over as being over-rehearsed and fake.

Relax, be yourself, and when you go into the interview, smile. Just a simple smile makes the panel start to like you and also makes you relax and remember that this is something you want to do - no-one is making you do this. It's your choice.

You sound very intelligent and expressive.

Be yourself at the interview and you'll do fine. The panel want you to do well - they aren't there to make you fail or feel uneasy. Try to remember that.

    Good luck!

    BEST RULE:

    Face the fear.

i remerber my childhood days , i used to fear the darkness but i face it and i overcame it , also

also don't show to others that you have fear cuz they will put their eyes in you, try to act naturally, also works that you put other things in your mind so don't thinkso much about the your fear, think so much for example in to study for math or wach a television listen your favorite music things like that.

Source(s): think in othet things .
