can i leave home and live with my friend at age 16?
i live with my aunt and she said i have to either go to boarding school or find somewhere else to live but there is no way i can stay with her anymore. i've talked to my friend and her family and they have agreed to let me live with them and so has my aunt but i don't know if its legal. can anyone please tell me the legal steps i have to take? if there's any personal experience you'd like to share, that'd be awesome. thanks in advance.

Who has custody of you? That's the person who can decide where you can live. Where are your parents in all of this? You can do it informally,without any change of custody, provided everyone is in agreement. I'm also curious as to why you want to move, but that's another story. Good luck, Dr.S.

yes it's leagal because she is ok with it just dont go back trying to ask her for money etc because you want to move out
