DUI and DWI so whats the real limit?

I don't quite understand how there are two, I understand what they mean by definition but wondering how 2 came about. If the legal limit is .1 and the dwi limit is .08 or .06 then why the hell do they even have a .1 setup....Is this something setup with MADD to get more money out of people??? It literally makes no sense, if I haev a DUI or a DWI I'm still paying outrageous fines, insurance hikes and potential of a lot of lost job oppurtunities so why don't they just have one and call it a day?

First off John you realize the implied consent would screw your license over if you refuse to blow(that means you are guilty to the DMV). Anyway DUI and DWI are basically just depending on the State. As to the old set of .1 or .08, that was back when the States really got to decide and is the same as when the drinking age was 18 or 21. Now both .08 and 21 are required to get Federal Highway Funds. States can choose to not get that money and set the age and legal limit wherever they want, but States in general can't afford to.

Lets say you are a heavy drinker, and a .07 to you is fine, and you can walk a line. Good to go. At .08 they can still arrest you even if you seem fine. Maybe I never drink, and 1 beer has me impaired at .05. I could still get a DWI (driving while intoxicated).

    Never, ever, ever, blow!

@Goldfly- - - If you know you are guilty and blow, you will loss your license, and give them evidence. Any lawyer will tell you not to blow. I blew for my first, and that was a bad idea.

There actually is no limit. If you have alcohol in your system the cops will get you and put you away for it. Believe it or not you can't fight against having alcohol in your system even if you are under the legal "limit" that's a joke they don't care about that. They will put you away for any reason as long as alcohol was involved.
