How can we eliminate spam in Yahoo! Answers when nobody is moderating the topic?
Yahoo Answers often has numerous identical ads. One person alone cannot usually get them deleted. What else can we do to get them removed?
I just saw over 8 identical ads posted as Yahoo! Questions.
There were many identical ads posted as "Answers" to the same questions.
They are currently in Other - Education but they have appeared elsewhere. Where else can we report this to get the removed?
These instances are ads for prostitutes.
OK, now I see the "NEW SPAM BATTLE THREAD". Note that's for reporting only commercial ads.
There are instructions for reporting different languages.

There was a Spam Battle thread on the Suggestion Board, but it seems to be having issues. The last posting there says to gather links to commercial spammers account pages (not just the question page they posted to) and email the links in batches to staff at y_answrs_team@yahoo.com (missing E is deliberate). Put the phrase Spam Battle Thread in the subject.

I doubt it will happen. A lot of us who have been in here for years are no longer reporting not to mention answering many questions. YA is biting its nose off to spite its face. We've complained about the new format for months now and Yahoo isn't listening. It's all about advertising now. I used to answer 10 or more technical help questions a day and spent my morning coffee reporting spam. The way I see it, if Yahoo isn't caring anymore, why should I? I stop in a couple times a week to see if they've come to their senses. Methinx Marrisa Mayer, the new CEO is getting paid by her old employer (Google) to destroy Yahoo lol.

In my opinion, the reports that show as "spam" to Yahoo should be separate from the rest and dealt with when they come in. If it's truly spam, delete the accounts right then and there. Zero tolerance would make it less desirable to keep trying. As is, one person spamming or consistently posting adult content... has to be reported over and over and over....

Ann. Thanks for your answer.
About the spam - here is what I do.
I click on his activity.
I then go through every answer he gives.
make sure he has at least 1 Thumbs Down. (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT)
Click "report abuse"
Write this phrase exactly this way
"SPAM. Getting FREE advertising from Yahoo. Lists his website on every answer."
Make a copy & paste it on every answer he gives. Soon as s quick as you report him it will be deleted.
