They look the best on paper, they have the "strongest" army in Europe, then get whacked in almost every war they get into.

to name a few times they looked good but got beaten.

Lost secret Greco-Rome knowledge were translated from their native language (latin) to Arabic, the Arabs Muslim as they were conquering north (if my memory serves me correct), they brought the Roman and Greek knowledge to Spain thus Spain was enlightened which led to the Renaissance, the Arabs inhabited Spain for a short while before dispersing. This enlightenment to Spain made way to the great enlightenment.
