Bartering for used guitar Help!!!?

I was going to go to my local mom and pop shop that i go to a lot. I talk to the guys there a lot and ive spent like $2000 theres plus my brother has spent 800 on the family account there. I was hoping to buy a used schecter custom xxx there thats listed at 330 used plus a gig bag. do you think i could get it to 300 out the door? or lower? plus a strap and strings. I would just get a case later

Absolutely haggle on that price and tell him what accessories you want to go with it. OK, the store makes $30 less profit, but many store owners know that 3/4 of a loaf of bread is better than no bread at all (like in no sale,) since his mark-up on this item is typically about $120. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Remind the seller that your family is a good customer in his establishment and that should seal the deal and money is simply very tight for you at this time.

Maybe, depends on the store. I know a place not too far from mine and the guys there are heaps cool. The place has a reputation for giving out massive deals to consistent customers. Guess what it comes down to is their reputation and if they remember you. I don't think it's necessarily bad to ask either.

That sounds like a very reasonable offer. I think most any store owner leaves some wiggle room in their pricing for just this reason. Big stores like GC have pricing set by corporate, but small shops like this control their own pricing.

i buy a lot out of pawn shops. Never give the asking price, Your being pretty conservative. only 30 bucks, i would start at 250.00 not go above 280.it is called battering, don,t be scared all he is going to say is no, don,t back down at his first hem hah, he will probly say well i don,t know i paid this much for it, stick to your guns, if he wants your business he will come down.
