Why do people use hand saws instead of table saws? Is there some advantage?

So i watch alot of youtube, its like all i do and i watch alot of woodworking videos and i know that the people have saws that could cut through the wood in like 2 seconds or less but the videos are sped up and it takes like 30 seconds watching them cut it with hand saws when in reality it took like 30 min im guessing. so my question is, why do they do this? are you not supposed to use power saws on certain wood?

There is not good reason why, because those cut couldn't have been made if the work was to be joinery unless they used the method I have posted below. Despite what's been posted using a hand saw is no guarantee you won't end up with a rough edge, you need to use old school methods to end up with a clean edge using a hand saw if you want a perfect edge (you need to use a utility knife on the cut line and then cut outside the line, then hand plane back to the knife cut, I was taught this are trade school). The only way to get a cut without tearing up the edge is by using a panel saw http://upload.ecvv.com/upload/Product/20122/China_...

Maybe they just don't have the proper power saw on-site. For example, if you want to cut a curve but don't have a big, heavy bandsaw handy, an old fashioned bow saw is often the next best option.

Or maybe they just like taking their time and actually working the wood, rather than ripping it through a powered blade all the time.

Some advantages are that left handed people like us are generally very creative, logical, and have a different/creative way of thinking Of course a huge disadvantage is that on average we live six months less than right handed people due to use of equipment made for right handed people

I use my Great Grandfathers over my electric all the time. It cuts straight, very precise, cuts through wood like butter, and I don't have to wind the cord back up again. I would rather build using non power tools instead of powered ones any day of the week. And it's fun too!

There were so many woodworking plans with this collection and you will not believe this but there are over thousands plans in the one package deal. Go here https://tr.im/WoodworkingProjects

This is really something to find that many all together. For someone like me who is just really starting to get involved with woodworking this was like letting me loose in a candy store and telling me I could have anything I wanted. That was my dream when I was a kid.

Actually, the video is NOT sped up. A GOOD craftsman can make FAR more precise cuts by hand than with any power tool. True craftsmen have been using hand tools for centuries to make cuts that are STILL not possible with power tools.

A circular saw blade tears up the wood on the the top side and on plywood and crosscuts it can be really bad and look nasty. Using a handsaw avoids all that and gives you two edges that are smooth and worth the extra time and effort. I slap molding on to cover the imperfections myself.
