Is this a thesis statement?
Nicolas Guillen uses the power of symbolism to convey the earnest dream of a man wanting to change the racial disparity between blacks and whites in “Un ***** Que Canta”
Basically, it's a poem about this man wanting peace between black and whites, and a society where they can one day work together. And the poet uses symbolism in his writing to send the message. Does this qualify as a thesis statement?

No.
“Un ***** Que Canta” does not convey a thesis:
the·sis
noun
1. A statement or theory that is put forward as a premise to be maintained or proved.
"the central thesis of his lecture"
2. A long essay or dissertation involving personal research, written by a candidate for a college degree.
Your premises:
There exist different races of human beings.
One race is white, another is black.
There is a war between white and black.
Your modus operandum:
Begging the question.
There is no such thing as race. Human beings are not a mixture of pure races. Since the discovery of the molecular basis of inheritance it has been shown that human beings are all the same species. At the sites below you can learn where we came from, and more:

Ethnocentric intolerance is a worldwide phenomenon and has occurred all through history. It is not universally expressed as intolerance based on visible phenotype, as you can discern for yourself by asking what arbitrary visible phenotype if any separates the conflicting parties in the examples below:
