When I unplug my iPod from my computer, all my songs are gone?
I know they're THERE somewhere, because when my iPod is connected to my computer, in iTunes, under "Stacy's iPod" all the songs are there and it shows that the iPod is almost full. But when I disconnect (and I'm doing it safely, ejecting the hardware and all that), my iPod says it has 0 songs on it.
What's causing this and how do I fix it? I've uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes twice (and the second time, I did it the long/thorough way, uninstalling every Apple program), and that didn't fix it.

Note: I don't want to sync my iPod to my iTunes library. There were songs on my iPod that aren't in my library, and songs in my library that I don't want on my iPod.
What do you mean by format my iPod? Thanks for answering, but could you please be a bit more specific? Thanks!
