go for it, it may not help your employment, but if he's a good friend then you're right to leave the job in solidarity of your friend, I would have done the same thing if it were my friend that got fired. SOLDIARITAT!

No. It was a stupid thing to do. If your friend wasn't performing up to standards, the boss had every right to fire him and your walking out achieved nothing except that it lost you a good job.

You blew it. It was not up to you to determine his work standards. You challenged a manager, the worst thing you could have done. Is the friend going support you? I think not. Now the important part is what are you going to put on an application as a reason for leaving? This does get checked out in most cases. Enjoy you minimum wage job if you can find one. Sorry to be so harsh, but I've dealt with this for 25 years and you have dug yourself into a deep hole.

No, you were wrong.
You have burned that bridge and now will not get a good recommendation
also, you could have talked to the boss and maybe got him to change his mind and give
your friend another chance.
