I prefer Gameface M4s, but they try to make their guns cheaper (because they shoot to be one of the best entry level, even though they aren't) and allot of players are leary of that $80-$180 price range. If money is no object, I would go with KWA (the most well-known and respected name in airsoft). They make quality guns that could go for years and years, though they are $200+. My arsenal consists of a FAMAS and a G36, so I don't go into M4s much, but if I was going to (depending on my price range) I would go with these two. Javelin should also receive an honorable mention (it's in the intermediate price range) because even though they used to have trouble with the hop-up, they worked the kinks out of their guns.
I just saw that you didn't mean specifically M4, so I'm going to recommend my KWA HK G36C to you. It shoots 380fps (mine is 550 because of upgrades) and is arguably the best airsoft gun. My FAMAS is reliable too (Foreign Legion FAMAS AEG) but I didn't think to mention it because most people don't like Bullpup.
