The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, says that "Congress shall make no law....abridging (limiting) the freedom of speech, or of the press..." Freedom of speech is the liberty to speak openly without fear of government restraint. It is closely linked to freedom of the press because this freedom includes both the right to speak and the right to be heard. In the United States, both the freedom of speech and freedom of press are commonly called freedom of expression.

Imagine a time when one could be fined, imprisoned and even killed for just simply speaking one’s mind. Speech is the basic vehicle for communication of beliefs, thoughts and ideas. Without the right to speak one’s mind freely one would be forced to agree with everything society stated. With freedom of speech a person's own ideas can be expressed freely and the follower’s belief will be stronger. The words sound so simple, but without them the world would be a very different place

This pertains to the ability of a person to speak out in any way they choose.

Example would be someone giving a speech on their opinion of::

    1.abortion

    2. Our government

    3. Civil rights

    4. Gay rights

    5. Our news media

    6. gun laws

    7. To advertise commercial products and professional services (with some restrictions

    8. To contribute money (under certain circumstances) to political campaigns

The media has the freedom to print what they want (within reason) on issues that go on domestically or internationally. They can show dislike against a leader of a country and express their opinions.

    9. Of students to wear black armbands to school to protest a war

10 your teachers give their opinions or viewpoints. this is freedom of speech. You don't have to agree with them, but they are entitled to their opinion.

Without freedom of speech, we would live like North Korea. You would not have the internet or cell phones or ipads or iphones or smartphones.

I don't know, but you need to convey that Hussein Obama is trying to take it away.
