I located the journal article to which the news story refers:
"The Gospel of Jesus's Wife: A Preliminary Paleographical Assessment"
http://journals.cambridge.org/action/displayFullte...
Basically I don't know anything more about it than what the scholars have stated. I don't have a firm opinion one way or the other because the scholars themselves aren't certain if the papyrus is truly ancient or just a well-done forgery. We will just have to wait to see in what direction the debate ultimately progresses.
I will say though that even if the papyrus is ancient, it probably was once a part of one of the "Gnostic Gospels," other examples of which include the Gospel of Philip and the Gospel of Judas. Pretty much every scholar would agree that these second, third and fourth century works shed no new light on the historical Jesus, only on what certain minority Christian sects believed about Jesus in those centuries.
Nonetheless, it would still be historically interesting to know that some third or fourth century gnostic Christian sect believed Jesus was married.

Jesus did not marry any woman and He was a lifelong virgin. The Church is the Bride of Jesus and a person can know this for certain along with many other truths if he or she practices devotion to the rоÑаrÑ.

There is no Jesus regardless of what type of paper is used. It's a fictional character too many people believe is real.
Anyway I doubt Christians will believe anything outside the bible.

The bible says that everything. jesus spoke to the people was in in parable form, and that he only spoke plainly to his apostles in private.
“Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable.” Matthew 13:34
So if Jesus ever did speak of a wife it was symbolic....he did use this same type of language when referring to his followers and their relationship to himself.
it is still very unlikely that this verse is original to scripture, as it in no way matches 1500+ Greek manuscripts we have.

Wow....ok, there is mention of a ceremony between Mary Magdalene and Jesus....However....papyrus is not a name of ANYONE AT THAT TIME. It is an ancient form of paper created from reeds along a river bank. It is a type of paper....or nowadays a font on a computer....or the hip trendy name of that really 'with it' kid in your class....but is not the name of Jesus's wife. There is a debate as to if Jesus was married at all. But trust me, papyrus IS NOT THE NAME OF JESUS' WIFE.

Likely that document is meant to deceive. Possibly Jesus had a wife.

What planet are you on???? Jesus created mankind because he is God. He does not need a wife. He is not like mankind. He made mankind to be who they are. God is God and to even think that is very much out of line.I am sorry to say, but you are an idiot!!!
