Back to playing baseball... Few questions?
Hello, my name is Eric. I am 18 years old, and I am joining a rec/casual league baseball team (18 years old and up), and I just had a few questions to ask.
I haven't played ball since I was about 14. Before high school, I made the decision to quit baseball in order to play hockey in high school. But I miss playing baseball, I grew up with the game. I began playing T-ball at 4, and I played coach pitch into youth baseball. I was a decent ball player, but I'm concerned with a couple of things.
What should I work on to regain my form? Any off field tips? Maybe stretches, weight lifting routines, running routines, or anything such as that to help? Or maybe the simpler things, like playing catch or going to the batting cages? I am very serious about getting back into baseball. I have a month to train before the 10 game season begins (I am not sure if there are any practices). It's a league for all skill levels, but I don't want to embarrass myself. I already took 125 swings at the batting cages today with different pitch speeds and locations, will this kind of routine help at all? Or should I be spending my time hitting the weights instead?
I'm open to play any position except for Pitcher and 1st base. I'd open to 2nd, Shortstop, 3rd, Center field, Right field, Left field, and Catcher.
Also, about equipment. I have 3 nice gloves, a 12 inch (more infielder style), a 14 inch (more outfielder style) and a catcher's mitt (34 inch), all Rawlings. I'm a bit concerned with the laces though. Is there any place that will re-lace a glove, or should I purchase a new one?
As for batting gloves, my old Mizunos still fit me real well, although they were from Walmart. Should I invest in a nice pair of Under Armour's, Nike's, or anything high end?
What kind of bat should I get? I've been using a 34 inch Easton, but I am looking to upgrade. Any particular brands I should keep an eye out for?
Also, cleats. I'm looking for Mid-high tops for ankle protection.
Also, how much money should I spend on this equipment? If I can remember correctly, baseball was an extremely affordable sport.
Thank you!

As far as practice don't worry so much about hitting the weights but focus more on batting and fielding.
Gloves, it is actually pretty easy to do yourself and there are some good videos on youtube that will teach you.
Batting gloves can go up to $50 and honestly there is no major difference in bonus I would say is a little padding. I bought my nike d.jeter gloves for about $50 and they ripped within 8 games.
Bat, since you are not playing high school, college or a real competitive league I wouldn't recommend you spent a lot of money on a bat because they can range up to $400. I would probably ask a buddy on the team or your couch should have a couple team bats.
Cleats, I prefer low tops just because I feel faster in them but I reccommend most mizzunos or nikes.
Pricing, Bats range from $80-$400, baseball gloves from $40-400, batting gloves from $8-$50, cleats from $30-$120.

Here are some points which helps you to regain form :
1.Stretch each major muscle group in your body to help get warmed up.
2.og daily and include sprinting intervals in your routine to engage the different muscle groups in your body.
3.Recruit a partner and play catch several days a week.
4.Visit a batting cage and take practice swings daily against a pitching machine.
5.Focus on improving your foot speed.
