Ahhh Good to be back on Yahoo Answers! Took a bit of a hiatus and it seems that I have forgotten how fun and interesting this website can be! I'm a 17 year old ice hockey player, however, I enjoy all sports very much. I enjoy a wide range of subjects, such as: eye optics, politics, travel, language arts, history, and foreign language.

  • What size jersey should I buy for inline hockey?

Normally I play ice hockey, and wear a size XL to fit over my pads. But I'm going to start playing inline recreationally (haven't played inline since I was 12), and I want to know what jersey size I should buy. I wear a size Large t shirt/hoodie, so I'm thinking medium. But I still have to account for elbow pads and possibly a padded shirt. Would a large fit me like a dress, or would a medium be too tight? Thoughts? I know every brand fits a bit differently, so I'm just asking for some opinions.

    If it helps, I'm 6'1"-6'2", 200 pounds.

  • What would be the job criteria of someone who worked in a "Distribution prep Department"?

I am thinking about taking a job opening at a major furniture store, and I was wondering what the job criteria would include for someone who was a part of the Distribution Prep Department. What are some things I should know about this job? What are the goals I need to accomplish? What will be my coworkers and my main focus? If you have any knowledge or experience in said department, your wisdom would be appreciated.

    Thank you for your answers

  • Can not remember this indie/pop song?

I have been trying to remember this song and the band who it was by for a few days now, and it's really bugging me. It's a popular song, with what can be described as a "pretty" intro. It sounds similar to an MGMT song, but it is not them.

For some odd reason, I remember the song or band name having the word "young" in it.

The intro is unique, then there is a short bass line, then in a distorted voice, the singer says "We are the..." and that's all I can remember. It's a fairly new song (within the last few years), very popular song, and it's featured in a few commercials and movies. Sorry I can't give more details. Best answer to who gets it first.

  • Pouring water into radiator?

Tonight I had to pull over because my car was overheating. I had topped off the radiator fluid earlier today, and drove it a few miles a short while after. When I stopped tonight, I put the hood up, and let the engine cool for about 15 minutes. Then I poured 3/4 of a gallon jug of water into the radiator. After doing more research, I am afraid that I didn't wait long enough to let the engine cool before pouring the water in. I am very worried that I damaged my engine.

Any advice is appreciated, thank you for your answer.

  • If Lebron returns to Cleveland...?

What will this do for his legacy? What will this say about him as a player, and a man? Do you think the fans who were devastated 4 years ago can forgive and forget?

Do you think a possible reason that he returned could be that he's trying to repair his reputation with his hometown? And on a bigger note, do you think he would have gone back to Cleveland if he was not born in Ohio?

I know that his reputation was tarnished after abandoning Cleveland, and the fact that he was born in Akron only fueled the hatred. If you were a Cleveland fan when the trade happened 4 summers ago, how do you feel about his return?

On a sidenote, How do you Miami Heat fans feel about this?

Seems surprising that after making the Finals 4 consecutive years (winning 2), that they would disband. Were you surprised when he left Miami?

I personally think being a part of the heat helped him grow as a player, and this experience may help him bring a title(s) to the Cavaliers. He has been to the Finals, he knows how to get back, and he can guide the young talent as well.

Of course, this is all speculation. Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions. It'll be very interesting if he goes back to Cleveland...

  • POLL: How do you wear your sliding pants? And why?

I wear my pants up with my socks showing. I feel that it's more traditional and old school, plus I think the baseball uniform looks good with socks.

  • A specific game wont load on my PS3?

I have this game, "The Bigs 2" for PS3. Yesterday i tried to play it, but right when it got to the play screen, it froze.

The disk had no smudges not scratches.

So I bought another copy today and when I went home to play it, the same exact thing happened. It froze at the play menu, at the exact same time.

Why is this? 2 perfectly fine discs of the same game do not work, yet all of my other games work just fine? I only have a few video games, as I only like to play my favorites.

Could this be the laser reader? All the other games I play (about 2-4) work without a problem.

Please help, this is one of my all time favorite video games.

  • Back to playing baseball... Few questions?

Hello, my name is Eric. I am 18 years old, and I am joining a rec/casual league baseball team (18 years old and up), and I just had a few questions to ask.

I haven't played ball since I was about 14. Before high school, I made the decision to quit baseball in order to play hockey in high school. But I miss playing baseball, I grew up with the game. I began playing T-ball at 4, and I played coach pitch into youth baseball. I was a decent ball player, but I'm concerned with a couple of things.

What should I work on to regain my form? Any off field tips? Maybe stretches, weight lifting routines, running routines, or anything such as that to help? Or maybe the simpler things, like playing catch or going to the batting cages? I am very serious about getting back into baseball. I have a month to train before the 10 game season begins (I am not sure if there are any practices). It's a league for all skill levels, but I don't want to embarrass myself. I already took 125 swings at the batting cages today with different pitch speeds and locations, will this kind of routine help at all? Or should I be spending my time hitting the weights instead?

I'm open to play any position except for Pitcher and 1st base. I'd open to 2nd, Shortstop, 3rd, Center field, Right field, Left field, and Catcher.

  • Is it ever too late for a crush? (high school seniors)?

There's this girl that I have a serious crush on, and I have had one now for about 2 months. We used to talk in class, we used to look at each other, and she used to laugh at everything I would say. Things were going real good.

While we still glance at one another and she gives the occasional laugh, I feel like I waited too long with her. I never got her phone number (big mistake, but I am shy, and she seems like it too). Is it possible to win her interest back, or have I waited too long for her? Whenever I talk to her, she doesn't seem real responsive, short sentence answers mainly. Yet she still compliments my school work, and still thinks I'm somewhat funny.

All I truly want is her friendship at this point, I feel like I've lost it to a certain degree. How can I win her back?

  • My crush crushed me...?

There is this girl that I am truly hung up on, she is all I think about. I will call her Jane. Jane and I attend the same high school. We had a class in 8th grade together, we were acquaintances though. This year, however, things have changed. For the first time in high school, we have a class together. We had 2 last quarter, but with time progressing, we now only share 1 class together.

In the 1st quarter, everything started out wonderfully. It was going smoothly, we spoke, we caught each other staring, we laughed. She used to laugh at everything I said. Even my corniest of jokes would receive a genuine laugh, accompanied with a smile and light blush. When we conversed, both of us seemed interested. Both of us even seemed interested in each other.

The 2nd quarter has begun. Now she won't even look at me. She won't speak to me, she does not laugh anymore, she just seems quiet around me... I can't understand why. I thought everything was going great, then this hits me out of nowhere. Whenever I talk to her, her responses are short and trite. She seems annoyed by me, I feel like I'm bothering her. I tried talking to her twice last week, both times, lacking success.

She took her friendship away, she took her kindness away, and she took her presence away, All beginning last Monday.

I can't stand looking her way anymore. Both of us used to be so lively in front of the class... now both of us sit in silence. Neither of us speak much to anyone anymore. Some days she doesn't speak to anyone, other days she speaks to everyone... But me. It's truly agonizing as I sit and watch a friend drag herself further away...

I truly only wanted this girls friendship. I loved her personality, and while she is quite attractive, all I wanted was her company. Her intelligence, her sharp wit, and her personality amazed me. I truly saw a friend, a kind hearted soul who I could connect with. Her absence is haunting me... I can't understand what I did to warrant this. It is depressing, recalling all of the happiness she brought me. All of the compliments, the kind words, the chuckles... was it all fake? Was it all an act? Did I overestimate everything?

I would ask how I could win her friendship back, but she seems to want no part of me. I don't know what I can do... Please help.

  • Spin- O - rama likely outlawed in shootouts. thoughts?

I feel it's safe to say that we all love to see a good spin o rama, even though it may bend the rules a little bit (Turning the skates away from the goalie). It's hard to spin on skates, maintain control of the puck, and launch a perfect shot all in the same motion. I say, if you can pull it off, you can do it. But who am I to say what should and should not be legal? So that's why I'm posting this, I want to see your opinions on why and if this interesting concept is being banned.

BQ- how do you goalies feel about the spin o rama? Have you ever had one pulled on you? Did you stop it? Please share your thoughts and experiences, I'm really interested in the goalie opinions... Talking to you, TexHabs.

  • So did you know this about you Cubbies?

Did you know that the Chicago Blackhawks are in fact the Chicago Cubs, despised as hockey players? Finally, a team that Chicago can root for! However, this doesn't solve your baseball problems. Maybe your boys should quit hittin' the ice so much and get back to the diamond.

BQ to Chitown fans- does having an extremely successful hockey team wash away the 105 years of heartbreak?

BQQ- When Chicago blows it to Boston in the Stanley Cup, will Steve Bartman be blamed?

  • There's always next season!!! Oh, wait a minute...?

Does anyone else get a weird feeling in their stomach when thinking of the next NHL season, considering it might not happen for a few years?

The way I see it, the 2014 season isn't exactly guarenteed. Shall we bow our heads and thank the Lord for this week of hockey, considering it could be our last for the next decade or two?

Thank God the Cubs aren't a hockey team...

  • R.I.P. Scott Winkler and Kristians Pelss.?

I want to talk about the death of these 2 young men... especially Pelss. Does this make anyone else realize that hockey players, or any other athlete at the professional level, are indeed just human beings? I think we lose sight of the true people that they really are. We tend to look at them as these privileged, lucky men/women. And don't get me wrong, to be able to play pro sports is nothing less than a privilege, but we forget that they're humans with problems, including depression. Sometimes it takes a tragedy such as suicide to realize that these young men, appearing so strong and untouchable, are just regular people. I can remember tearing up when I heard about Boogard, Belak, and Rypien. Especially Rypien... a hockey player such as myself who lived a troubled life, battling depression and suicidal thoughts, finally gave in one day.

I think the pressure put on these kids drives them too extremes such as suicide or drugs. The feeling of inadequacy is the worst, overwhelming emotion in the world. I think this is a feeling, an emotion that is all too common to pro athletes.

Suicide is a rarity in sports, but it does happen. I think we need to take a moment to remember that these men are humans, and their problems should be acknowledged. Pro hockey should not define a human being, just like any other occupation shouldn't.

So rest in peace to these young men, and I hope all of you are well. Thank you for reading.

  • Could there be a scar that I can't see?

About 3 years ago, i was jogging and the TOP of my wrist (where my hand and forearm connect) got scraped up buy a brick wall. It kind of scratched an A pattern into the skin. NO BLOOD or anything. However, the skin in the A pattern was pink and little white flakes stuck up from the pink lines. I washed the wound constantly, and applied some bactine, but never neosporin or lotion.

I can't see a scar, but could there be one?

BQ: when it comes to the TOP of the rist (not the veiny part), how deep does a scratch have to go to scar? Also, does a scratch have to bleed to scar? Because I heard that skin has to open to scar, is this true?

this has been bugging me lately, I don't want any scars on that particular area.

  • What's this song? Heard it in Zumiez?

Okay, so I heard it in Zumiez the other day. It sounded like a r&b or slow rap. The chorus was

"You're lucky I only got one loooove" or something like that. A piano background was also playing. it was a guy singing.

  • How to remove ear guards from Easton s19 helmet? How do I put them back on?

I am in youth hockey (Midget) and I know that USA rules dictate that you can't remove these pieces. I'm not going to, I'm just curious on how to remove them. I might remove them for open hockey/drop in and such. I know you have to find the right screws or something? If I remove them, how do I put them back on?
