I think im having opiates withdrawals?

So I had a breast augmentation march 11th and ever since Wednesday I have been taking Percocets like 2 every 5-6 hrs.. well Thursday I had one left I took it that morning. I woke up friday feeling like I was hungover. Horrible headaches throwing up I feel like I have the flu. I can't eat I get nauseous to think of food. Innever felt this way... I looked up my symptoms and it said it could be a opiate withdrawal. Im shaking and restless.. ughhg help how long is this going to last.. I dont like drugs. I did not mean for this to happen :(

Update:

I was taking them over a month .. because the doctor gave me another scpit because I tore my stitches and he had to put new stitches in. So he prescribed me more Percocets. I was in pain . I took Percocets before when I had a c.section but I never felt this way. :(

Oh yeah, you have the drug flu for sure. I am sorry you had to find out personally why they nickname opiate withdrawal that way. Its a bad stomach flu accompanied by muscle aches and a feeling that I can only best describe as wanting to jump out of your skin. That doesnt do it justice either, but you know what I mean.

Somebody mentioned a taper which would have been fine but you likely do not have the medication to do it. And you should be over the acute portion any minute now. It normally doesnt go more than 72hours from your last dose, but just like with a normal flu bug you are going to feel pretty drained for a few days afterward.

You can treat the symptoms, I found Nyquil and such to be helpful if you can keep it down. I have heard in a couple places here that melatonin is decent for withdrawal symptoms. You are going to want to drink something like Gatorade and lots of water post withdrawal as you will be dehydrated after all the throwing up and diarrhea.

I have one concern over your question and it probably is nothing but...You know Percoset has a lot of Tylenol in it. It is Tylenol and the narcotic oxycodone, but mostly Tylenol (or APAP; acetaminophen). They will write the dose on the bottle with something like this 5/325 which means 5mg of oxycodone and 325mg of Tylenol. Figure out how much Tylenol you were taking on average because exceeding the max safe 3000mg daily limit can really smoke your liver. Along with the vomiting and diarrhea, your liver has had a pretty nasty week. So if you have abdominal pain when you are feeling more yourself, it may not be a bad idea to get blood drawn for a liver test, just to makes sure its all good. Its probably nothing ,though

Well feel better soon (and you should) and I wish you pain free days.

A month of using narcotic painkillers can be sufficient to cause some physical addiction. Usually that would not be too severe, but being post-surgical your usage sounds understandable. Contact your doctor about this. They will help you with these symptoms.

I took prescribed Oxycodone (active ingredient in Percocet) after a surgery last August, and felt some mild withdrawal symptoms. These symptoms were not as severe as yours, but my GP helped me in treating them. They do understand these matters.

    sounds like withdrawal to me

why were u takin them every 5 to 6 hours

for over 1 full month uve been takin them around the clock

they are not supposed to be taken around the clock

    but as needed

i know plenty of people who have had surgery or plastic surgery

noone i know of took them around the clock

didnt u know they were only for pain

u shoulda gradually started takin tylenol xtra strength

    or alleve or advil

those were powerful narcotics and controlled substances

call ur pharmacist and ur doctor asap

u r not supposed to stop cold turkey since ur body has become addicted to them

due to the dosages uve been takin

    way too much

    sorry
