Determine the number of protons and electrons for the following elements:?

1. Fluorine, F-

2. Magnesium, Mg 2+

3. Aluminium, Al 3+

4. Sodium, Na+

5. Nitrogen, N 5+

6. Zinc, Zn #30

7. Hydrogen, H+

8. Potassium, K+

9. Oxygen, O 2-

10. Sulfur, S 2-

I'm really confused as to what I should do, I was not there for the lessons and I'm hoping someone will help me with these answers! Much appreciated :)

    Look up the atomic number on the chart and that is the number of protons.

    From the atomic number, subtract the charge (watch sign!) and that is the number of electrons.

    F⁻¹ has 9 protons and 10 electrons (9 minus -1)
