How can I know if his feelings are real?

I'm dating a guy for a almost two months now, but he is in paris now since 2weeks. Next week he is coming back but since he is there it changed a little bit, we don't talk that much anymore.

I think his lying about his feelings and stuff cause I have trust issues. He is nice to me and than he's cold again. I don't know what he wants. So yesterday I asked him if he would mind if I dated other guys he said I would prefer that u don't date other guys but I can't tell you that you can't but if you do it would hurt me. In a way he told me that he wants to be exclusive but why he doesn't show me that?
