Purple advertisements on first line of yahoo mail?
I started receiving these messages from Comcast where my first email should be located. Is there any way to disable this?

Those are Yahoo "sponsored" spam advertisements, and "so far" no one has figured out how to get rid of them.
(Adblock doesn't stop the "sponsored" ads.)
Yahoo has made them "un-deletable", because they get paid every time it's clicked on---(hence the $ symbol).
You will just have to learn to ignore them.
This is what Yahoo has to say about "their sponsored emails"--------"Free Yahoo! Mail is made available in part by the advertising you view while using our site".

You get free email and so Yahoo needs some way to pay for the service you are getting for free. They use advertisements. Yahoo Mail Plus has no ads.
