My band and I already decided what songs we are going to cover before we start writing originals. We know who's gonna do what in the band. So what do we do at the first official band practice........do we just play....?

Just go there, have a laugh and just simply say "what song then?" And practice the song. Goodluck.

You simply play, music can feel so wonderful when you take the time to enjoy it and feel it. Go there and feel the music, feel how great musicians can come together and make amazing music...
