Part A: How many grams of sodium metal did he start with?

I have absolutely no idea how to do this, please help

    If the total is 116 grams of which 68 grams is chlorine, the remainder (116 grams - 68 grams = 48 grams) must be the sodium.

    Two gram moles of each element were used.
