Where to get live pinky rodents?
Hello. A couple years down the road I am thinking of getting some pinky rodents. I am thinking mice -- but I may opt for rats or even rabbits.
Where would you get these? I often see mice sold on craigslist and such, but what about rats and rabbits.
I obviously searched things like "Live feeder rodents" but I can only find mom and pop shops across the country.
Where else would you look for them?
I know pet stores have grown or at least weaned mice, but they usually dont sell pinkies....

You can ask a reptile dealer if he/she can, or will, order some live pinkies.
May I ask why you would want to order live pinkies? If it's for feeding to a snake, I was present at a pet shop on feeding day while a worker was feeding live pinkies to some snakes. As pinkies are no threat to any snake, the snakes were swallowing the pinkies live, which was bad enough (we could hear the pinkies squeaking inside the snakes until, mercifully, they finally suffocated), but there was a family with a young child there as well. The child was traumatized, the mother outraged, and the father was entranced. As I was there to purchase pinkies myself, I was treated to a stern lecture by the mom, who told me I was as such as the rest of them. It didn't matter that I was buying frozen pinkies.
Anyway, any shop with access to mice should be able to obtain live pinkies. Whether or not they WILL is another question.

Feeding live is illegal - is it not? I know for definit that is illegal here as it causes unnesscary suffering to the animal and is actually classed as animal cruelty in many country's.
I have to ask, but why do you feel as though you need to feed live? Really, you run the risk of harming your snake, never mind the poor Mouse. Frozen is fine, and it eliminates the horrific-Experince, suffering to the mouse, and potential damage to your snake. (which may not be the case with pinkies, but pinkies grow up and I highly doubt you'd use so many pinkies in one feeding).
If you're looking to raise pinkies, just buy two adult mice and breed them, although that is pretty careless. You cannot possibly believe that you can raise pinkies yourself. They will most likely die and will be of no use to anyone.
