would this (fictional) relationship be to weird?

Im writing a short story, its about a 28-year-old time traveler who gets stuck in the past and befriends and 13 year old girl. They have a strictly platonic friendish for years, he's almost like her brother. But he finds out how to get back to future, but he also goes into a parallel universe and brings a younger teen version of himself so he can grow up and eventuality marry the girl(yeah I know its a little confusing)

But would it be to weird?

Maybe make them a little closer in age and don't add the brother thing, the way it is now it is a little weird but if he were 28 and she was like 18 or even 17 and he wasn't like a brother than I think that would be a really awesome idea!

Too weird? Nah, that's actually kind of cool, bring singing the teen back, you could do a whole story of how the Parallel universe version of himself isn't exactly like him.

As for the ages 28 and 13...it kind of is...maybe change their ages a bit.... that's just my opinion...
