How is working sales in a furniture store?

I was thinking about doing sales to get my foot in the door. I was interested in maybe applying for a furniture store, however, I have heard that it is rather difficult because they are mostly just commission based. Basically you are forced to try and sale aggressively in order to survive. Something I kind of don't agree with. Anyways, if anyone has experience working in furniture sales, I would like to know how it is? How much percentage commission you get and if making in the $40 to $50 thousands a year is achievable. I also read that sales for furniture sales are actually down and have been for a while. Also that furniture people use all kinds of unethical sales tactics to try and get people to sell items. Something else I would have a problem with. Anyways I would just like opinions and recommendations. If sales is a good place to start perhaps even for temporary. Thanks.
