What size tires? Honda civic?

I have a civic an the size thats suposed to go on is 15. Right now i have size 14 snow tires(which i plan to switch). But since i gave a lowered vehicle, would soze 16-17 give me a smoother ride through pot holes? I feel like the tiny wheels sink right in the holes. I dont mind going to original 15, but whatever is smoother is what im lookin for

You do not list the OEM tire size so it is impossible for me to tell you what size to go to in a 16". List the OEM tire size and I can help you. Honda Civic's do not ride good and no matter what you do you will never get a smooth ride out of this compact car. That is just the nature of compacts. Stick with the OEM size and purchase a set of Touring tires. They will give you the best ride and will be quieter than a sport tire. The Yokohama Avid Touring S is an excellent choice. They were the best tires I ever installed on my 2004 Accord. Very quiet, smooth riding with excellent traction. They lasted 50,000 miles.
