Can Pyrex mixing bowls withstand high temperatures in the oven?

I've used Pyrex casseroles in the oven and they work just fine but I've never used a mixing bowl. In fact I don't know if they are any different to casseroles when it comes to heat but the bowl seems thinner. I need to use it at a temperature of 475F. Will it be safe to use?

If it's real Pyrex(from before 1998 when it was still made by Corning out of borosilicate) then it'll be fine but if it's the newer stuff that's been produced under license by World Kitchen then you might want to be careful. The way you can tell is if it's the real Pyrex the glass itself will be clear and colourless. The licensed stuff will have a blue tint to the glass.

They claim that the product is good up to oven temperatures of 400 degrees. I've never tried going beyond that.

There is a warning label on them specifically saying they aren't guaranteed for this.

However, they're covering their butts with this, so they don't get sued. It will break sometimes, with some ingredients.
