How long after an interview does a company typically get in contact with you?

It would have been the final interview, but they still need to check out my information. I had to sign an approval letter for a background check at the interview and was told to notify my contacts. Since that costs them money, I was kind of the opinion that it would be a conditional offer and that they would get back with me. It hasn't been long but im just wondering when I should move on.
