Air bag light on. Trailblazer?

I have an 08 trailblazer and I was disconnecting the airbag. I pulled the fuse but didn't disconnect the battery. after reconnecting everything the air bag ligjy is now on. Is this because I disconnected the battery and will it just turn off eventually? Also it flashes a few times then stays on

The airbag indicator should flash every time you start the truck. It should then go out unless something is wrong. Since you did not follow procedure, you effed something up. Go back and go over what you did. Then undo what you did or bite the bullet and get it fixed by a professional.

Nope, it means whatever connector you unplugged was damaged in the process. Need to have someone look at it & look at the connector that was unplugged

An SIR light on will not cause it to deploy. It will do the opposite. Anytime the air bag light stays on, it will prevent it from deploying at all

The only exception to that rule is if the SDM is sitting in a puddle of water, than it is possible

Maybe the airbag control module is corroded? There was an electrical short? Whatever it is, i HIGHLY recommend you take it to the dealer. Theres a possibility it could deploy inadvertantley or not deploy at all when you need it. Politely correct me if im wrong.
